Halma 16×16
Halma, invented in the 1880s, is the ancestor of Corners. The board is 16×16, and each player has 19 pieces in a stepped home: five squares along the edge, five more above them, then four, three and two. Steps and jumps go in all eight directions, and locking in is allowed.
On the big board a game is longer: the home deadline is 80 moves and the game limit is 250 moves. Everything else follows the basics. The club chose the deadlines and will adjust them from the games played. The variant is unrated; four-player Halma has its own topic.
