Diagonal 3×3

A 3×3 home with 9 pieces, but steps and jumps also go diagonally — in all eight directions. Pieces travel faster, so the home deadline is shorter — 30 moves; the game limit is 80 moves.

Locking in is allowed: you may hem in an opponent's piece. A piece locked in its own home does not break the deadline, and if a player has no move at all, the game is a draw. This variant has its own rating. All rules are in the basics.
