Obstacles

A board of 8 columns × 7 rows, four in a row, a two-game match, unrated. Before the game 4 blocked cells — grey plugs — are placed on the board. No disc can go into such a cell, and no row passes through it.

A plug lies like a neutral disc: at the bottom of a column or on another plug, no more than two in one column. That is why no cell is unreachable.

The board is new every time, so memorised openings do not help. Within a match both games are played on the same board, so the players are on equal terms.
