Playing against the bots

In the rooms "vs bots", bots of five levels join the table: Lin, Mei, Tao, Yun and Shen. The junior ones pick a move by a one-move evaluation with a touch of randomness; Yun and Shen look further — with two players they go through the opponent's replies, with three or more they look at their own next moves.

The junior bots are good for learning to build ladders and leave home on time. The senior ones punish chains left open to the opponent and a point tip stuck at home.

At a six-player table with bots you can play alone against five — good practice for the crowded centre.
