Canadian draughts (12x12)

Board and start. Canadian draughts is played on the 72 dark squares of a 12x12 board. Each player starts with 30 men on the nearest five rows; White moves first.

Movement. A man moves one square diagonally forward and captures in both directions. A king moves and captures any distance along an open diagonal; after a capture it may land on any empty square beyond the captured piece.

Capture. Capture is compulsory. When more than one capture sequence exists, the sequence that captures the greatest number of opposing pieces must be chosen. Captured pieces remain on the board until the whole sequence ends, and the same opposing piece cannot be captured twice.

Promotion and result. A man that reaches the last row during a capture remains a man until the sequence ends. Win by taking all opposing pieces or leaving the opponent with no legal move. Draw limits are governed by the room rules.
