Against bots
The rooms "with bots" have five bots of different strength:
| Bot | Level | |---|---| | Varya_Bot | 1 — beginner | | Gleb_Bot | 2 — amateur | | Tonya_Bot | 3 — experienced | | Fedya_Bot | 4 — master | | Lyova_Bot | 5 — strongest |
The bots calculate moves ahead and value not only cells but also what the next move will open up. The first two sometimes pick a colour that is not the best: the first noticeably more often than the second. The experienced bot no longer makes mistakes and calculates a few moves ahead; the master and the strongest calculate much deeper, and the strongest thinks as long as the clock allows.
What bots do and don't do
- The bots play fair: they don't throw games and don't stall. The pause before a move is about a second.
- The bots deny colours and cut off regions — just as described in the topics on denying a colour and cutting off.
- No bot at any level misses a win in one move.
Where to start
If you always take the colour that takes the most, you will beat the first two bots comfortably and hit a wall at the third. Start with Varya_Bot on the quick 8×7 board. When you win matches steadily, move on to the next bot, and against the master and the strongest try denying a colour and cutting off regions.
